Rosters
If you would like to be included our bi-monthly roster please contact us. It is a great way for your family to be involved in the garden and to give your children an opportunity to care for the chickens.
The School Garden Club meets each Friday morning from 8.15am - 8.45am during the School Term. We are seeking parents that would like to be involved. The children are very enthusiastic!
Please contact Bree - bree@seedharvestspoon.com.au if you would like to assist.
Garden Guidelines
Management of the school and parish gardens follows Permaculture Principles.
The decision-making process relating to garden development begins with community discussion at a seasonal garden meeting, and then a decision is ratified by the Executive Committee.
Code of Conduct
1. All gardeners to respect each other, a purpose of the garden.
2. Children must be supervised and are the responsibility of their parent or guardian who is present within the garden.
3. Gardening is to be carried out communally and no member should assume sole use of any section of the garden.
4. Gardeners are to avoid making key gardening decisions on their own. Major ideas and plans must be run by the Executive Committee who will communicate with the appropriate authorities in the Parish and / or school.
Own discretion can be used for low impact undertakings such as watering, weeding, some harvesting, etc
5. All gardeners must dispose of waste appropriately and help keep the garden clean.
6. No smoking in the garden.
7. Produce will be shared amongst gardeners using the 'pick some, leave some' method initially (to be reviewed once the garden becomes more productive)
8. Gardeners must report damage or wear and tear of garden tools and general tool maintenance.
9. The garden is a shared community space and all members are to respect the space and the rights of all other users of the space.
Conflict Resolution
1. Any conflict, concerns and / or issues between individuals or within the garden community which may arise, must be communicated with one or all of the Executive Committee. These communications will be respected in confidence, and will not have a negative impact on peoples ongoing participation in the garden.
2. The Executive Committee will meet with the individual/s raising the concern and will come to an agreement about how to proceed in order to resolve the issue.
3. Steps to resolve conflict between gardeners will be in accordance with the Code of Conduct.
